Kava Kulture LA
About This Spot
Stepping into Kava Kulture LA, you’re greeted by a calm embrace that famously sets it apart from the usual Los Angeles buzz. Nestled on Glendale Blvd, this coffee shop-cafe-lounge hybrid carries a relaxed, unhurried rhythm—where the softly lit space invites you to lean back, breathe, and let the day’s weight dissolve. Here, the hum of quiet conversation mingles with subtle ambient music, creating a sanctuary for those seeking space to connect, reflect, or simply pause.
The vibe is warm and unpretentious, somewhere between a close-knit neighborhood spot and a cozy enclave designed for meaningful moments. It’s a place where locals feel seen and newcomers feel effortlessly welcomed, thanks to attentive staff who move with genuine care rather than scripted service. Whether you arrive alone with a book, or in a small group drawn to the shared ritual of kava, there’s an immediate sense of being part of an inclusive community.
Drinks at Kava Kulture offer more than just refreshment—they deliver an experience. The famed kava, with its earthy, traditional essence, invites a slow, grounding calm that subtly reshapes the usual coffee shop energy. Alongside kava, options like herbal teas and thoughtfully crafted lattes mellow the pace even further, encouraging visitors to linger over moments rather than rush through them. Adding honey, coconut, or natural infusions feels like a small, personal touch that enhances the ritual without overwhelming it.
By day, the space easily transitions into a thoughtful nook for work or quiet conversation, its booths offering a sense of shelter and comfort. By night, the atmosphere deepens into a shared, intimate gathering—open mics and community events add layers of connection that bridge strangers into familiar faces. It’s a balance of low-key social energy and a soothing reprieve from the city’s constant motion.
While the offerings focus predominantly on drinks, the spot’s character comes from how it fosters moments of ease and authenticity. This is a place to slow down, whether that means savoring the numbing, grounding qualities of kava or simply soaking in the calm presence of others doing the same. In every corner, there’s a subtle invitation to share space and stories—not in loud bursts, but in gentle, heartfelt ways.

I had a great experience at this kava spot! The vibes were super chill—exactly what you want when you’re winding down with a shell or two. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. Whether you're a regular or brand new to kava, they make you feel right at home. Overall, it is just a good place to relax, connect, and enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely be back!

Rolled in half-wired from LA’s usual madness, looking for a breather that didn’t come from a barstool or a vape pen. Found it here—served in humble plastic to-go cups, no pretense, no flair. The kava? Earthy, numbing, like chewing on tradition. The kratom? Smooth and clean, a quiet little lift that doesn’t ask questions. No clout-chasing, no synthetic vibes. Just low lights, ambient beats, and people who get it. Prices were solid. Staff didn’t oversell. I grabbed a full gallon to go because some nights, you want to keep the peace with you. This isn’t a “scene.” It’s a soft rebellion against all the noise.

Chill spot. Cigar smell tho. Price is too high. You should add more food options instead of just chips and you will make customers stay more

I order the 4oz kava mocktail with strawberry and honey added which comes to $17 plus whatever you want to tip. It is a bar atmosphere with booths to sit and do your work during the day. They have an open mic at 7pm on the last Thursday of every month (it's fun). The mocktail calms my nervous system and I like to order it and take it to Silverlake Resivour to lay in the grass and read. :)

Best kava bar on the continent. Linda runs this place with love and care. All the employees and regulars here are the friendliest you'll find in LA. Felt like a home away from home. Thank you for the memories, hope to see everyone again soon
